Dumela is within walking distance to SPAR, a bottle store, butchery and other shops. Take a 1km stroll on the beach to the Wimpy, Mugg & Bean and other restaurants in Margate.
Dumela is ideally positioned right on Lucien beach, one of Margate’s prestigious beaches with life guards, surfing, fishing, whale and dolphin viewing.
Activities & Attractions
Places of interest in the area include antique shops, art shops, modern shopping malls, cinemas and organised fishing and whale watching expeditions. The Wild Coast Casino is a mere 30km away with interesting places to see and visit along the way including Mac Banana and butterfly dome, coffee farms such as Echo Valley and Beaver Creek. For the adventurous, the famous Oribi Gorge offers extreme sports. Other places to see are, Uvongo Bird Park, the crocodile and snake farm and of course there are driving ranges and golf courses nearby too.
The Waffle House restaurant in Ramsgate is a firm favourite offering both savoury and sweet Belgiun waffles and pancakes for the discerning palate. Between Margate and Port Edward, various cuisines on offer are Italian, Austrian and French amongst others.
Modern shopping malls such as South Coast Mall, Shelly Centre and Hibiscus Mall make sure that you are always able to find anything you may need.
Durban International Airport is just over an hour’s drive away. Margate Airport is no longer available for national flights, but offers helicopter flips and facilities for microlights and light aircraft.
