The 9-hole (18 tee) golf course was designed by Thys van den Hoven in 2009. Varying lengths, club selection and approach angles on the front and back nine ensures the challenge of a full 18-hole championship course.
The lowest point on the course is 1316m above sea level with the highest point at an altitude of 1420m. Playing uphill and downhill tests your stamina and fitness levels. Do not bargain on a flat lie – the mountainous course does not lend itself to those.
The kikuyu fairways have been designed to give the golfer a fair chance in hitting it and fairways get smaller as the distance increases. Rocky nature of the terrain limited the fairway space. Wayward shots will be severely punished as semi rough is also limited due to rocky mountainous areas. Some longer carries over long grass is also part of the course. The course will demand careful club selection to secure playing from fairways and thus improving scoring. Missing targets on the open side will also be critical to avoid double bogeys. A few blind shots is also on offer. The course is well mixed with holes into and with the prevailing winds.
