The Die Vlei Cottages and Camps is situated right next to the river in the Citrusdal Valley, each cottage has its own private deck where you can enjoy the peace and quiet that this place has to offer. Here, you are free to do what your body has tried to tell you long ago, rest … do some onsite activities like canoeing, mountain biking, fishing, hiking or go into town for activities like horse riding or be lazy and enjoy the freedom of not having to focus on the busy life out there.

Self Catering Accommodation

The Cottages
There are three Die Vlei cottages, of which two can sleep four people each and the third one can sleep five people. These cottages in the Citrusdal Valley, which provides homely accommodation, all have decks where you can sit for hours and look out onto the swim hole and nature around you. You will find the cottages fully equipped with bedding for each person, plug points, chairs, table as well as utensils for cooking and the afternoon braai. All you would need to worry about is what to pack in for food as these units are all self catering.

The Campsite
Die Vlei is the only accommodation unit in Citrusdal that has a over hang bridge where you will find the campsites. Bring your own tent or hire one of ours and forget about the hassle of driving around with big lumps of tent in the back of your car. However you prefer it, we are ready to accommodate you in any way possible.

Where to eat

Die Sitrus Steakhouse:
Enjoy a hearty dinner at this restaurant at very reasonable prices which is located in Voortrekker Street.

Bydidam Steakhouse:
This is a 3-star resort which also has a restaurant for that romantic dinner on the deck. This restaurant is located about 1km out of town towards the Middelberg Pass.

Via the Grapevine:
This is the coffee shop to go to for a hot or cold beverage and something tasty to eat. This lovely coffee shop is located in town on Voortrekker Street.

Activities

If you are done catching up on much needed sleep, or if you are looking for a fun filled holiday, have a look at the various activities Die Vlei as well as the Citrusdal Valley can offer. Here are some activities that you can do on Die Vlei as well as in and around town:

Hiking:
You can either decide to hike on the escarpment on the farm or let us give you other options to hike on different farms in the valley. Please contact us for other unforgettable hiking trails in Citrusdal.

Canoes:
We have canoes on different farm dams and rivers that can be hired. Please book well in advance while making your accommodation booking as we have a limited supply.

Fishing:
Bass have been introduced into farm dams with a very high success rate for anglers and fly fishers. Please enquire with us for a map for dams you can fish in. Please contact us for four great fishing coordinates.

Mountain Bike Riding:
Please bring your own mountain bike along or hire one from us and go for a ride on the farm roads and hiking trail. For off-site activities we also have various hiking -, as well as mountain bike trails. Then we have our horse riding, golf course and 4x4 routes.

Horse Riding:
If horse riding is your thing, then get on a horse and come and explore our beautiful countryside the way it should be explored. Please contact us for more information.
