Welcome to Cunningham Cottage on SA-Venues.com, offering accommodation in Kuruman, Kalahari.

Cunningham Cottage is situated in Kuruman in the Northern Cape. As Kuruman is known for its famous “Eye”, a natural spring that delivers the town with its water, Cunningham Cottage also has a fair share of water. Two of the water canals, built by missionaries to supply the well-known Moffat Mission with water, run through the property, as well as a natural rivulet that is caused by the overflow of the Eye. This wonder fountain delivers 20 million litres of water daily and through the years it has never ceased in its capacity.

Accommodation

Cunningham Cottage offers nine units, which have their own entrances from the outside. Every room has an air conditioner, DSTV, a small fridge and tea / coffee facilities. All rooms have en-suite bathrooms. The rooms are beautifully furnished, spacious and comfortable.

Safe parking is available on the premises and trailers are welcome.

Breakfast

We offer a full breakfast (English and continental) and dinners and lunch packs on request.

Activities and Attractions

Other places of interest near Kuruman will be the White and Roaring Sands Nature Reserve. The sand only roars when it is dry and the friction of the sand granules causes the sound when one step on it. The quaint Kalahari town, van Zylsrus, with its unique hotel is not to be missed! The Wonderwerk Caves, 40 km south from Kuruman as well as the famous Boesmansgat, where divers have reached record depths and are lured to come back time and again.

Kuruman is also famous for its perfect airwaves in the summer months and glider and para -gliders are a common sight in the sky. Other attractions for city dwellers are star gazing and the amazing sun sets this world offers. Definitely a part of South Africa with a big variety to see and experience and is worth a visit.

Kuruman

Kuruman is also your gateway to Namaqualand, Namibia, the Kalahari region and the Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park when on holiday or to the mining towns if you are a businessman. A Raptor route was identified to the north west of Kuruman in the Kalahari. A big variety of falcons, eagles, owls and vultures are a common sight on this route. The big colonies of vultures are an impressive sight.

This arid region, with Kuruman as the oasis, has an appeal that speaks to ones soul and spirit. If you are in need of tranquillity and peace, begin your journey in Kuruman and make Cunningham Cottage your choice to stay. Our place anticipates what lies ahead!

Whether it is a stop-over or for longer periods, your hosts Gert and Bernice Kotze will make sure that you enjoy a memorable stay.

We look forward to meeting you and to receiving you at our cottage.
