Chicama Country Spa

The stylish Chicama Country Spa, part of the Guvon Hotel group, has chosen the romance of the vineyard as its theme. It is decorated in soothing neutrals, with deep burgundy brought out in Persian rugs and subtle décor touches. Treatment rooms have been named after wines, such as Merlot, Shiraz, Pinotage and Chardonnay. A partnership with Zorgvliet Winery in Banhoek ensures that Spa lunches are complemented by the finest of Cape wines.

The five star Spa facilities include a total of ten treatment rooms of which two have private hydrotherapy baths, three have private gardens and the couples’ treatment room boasts with a romantic, private Jacuzzi. A heated pool and countryside patio completes the ultimate venue for relaxation.

Chicama Country Spa uses TheraVINE products, made primarily from the extracts of the Pinotage grape and organic Cape botanicals. TheraVINE is reputed for its nutritional supplement use and the anti-oxidant properties of ‘vino therapy’ in skin and beauty cosmetics have been pioneered in South Africa by Lisa Smit in Stellenbosch.

A range of pampering and wellness treatments are available from qualified therapists: the Spa menu includes day and overnight packages, pampering treatments for bridal and special occasions, exclusive conferencing packages, hen parties, romantic getaways and cheese and wine evenings. Gift vouchers are available for those special occasions, as a staff incentive or corporate gift.

Accommodation

Accommodation at Glenburn Lodge includes a total of 100 bedrooms made up of two and three bedroom chalets, Garden Suites, 48 hotel twin rooms including two family rooms and two paraplegic rooms, as well as twenty one luxury suites overlooking indigenous bush and tranquil water features.

The latest addition to the Glenburn offering is Bushwillow Tented Camp, providing a fun-filled African safari experience for guests. Ideally situated on the Blaauwbank River, this venue accommodates from twenty to sixty guests in self-catering tented accommodation at a very competitive rate. A boma and heated pool ads to the leisure aspects of the venue while rugby and hockey facilities as well as a large sport field makes this the perfect venue for teambuilding activities.

A host of exciting recreational facilities include hot air ballooning, horse trails, walking trails, adventure golf course, river trout fishing, floodlit tennis, beach volleyball, rock pool complete with grotto, pool bar and Jacuzzi, gymnasium and pool room.
