Capeview is situated in a residential estate (Greenways) in the Strand (Helderberg area) in the Western Cape Province. The Strand encircled by the majestic Hottentots Holland Mountains with its world - renowned “fynbos” borders on False Bay where the Atlantic and Indian oceans meet. Surrounding villages are historic Stellenbosch, Somerset West and picturesque Gordons Bay. Greenways, formerly the site of the Strand Golf Club was developed 12 years ago along some 1.5 km of unspoiled beachfront, with fantastic sea and mountain views. The EstateFor the golf enthusiasts there is a nine hole mashi golf course with club facilities, which includes a restaurant. There are also tennis courts, a swimming pool and walkways inside the estate and beachfront. Safety is a top priority and an excellent 24 hour security system in place. AccommodationCapeview (separate entrance) is a self catering apartment (max 2 guests) with sea views across False Bay towards Cape Point and Table Mountain, offering the highest standard of comfort and luxury. The unit comprises of a very large bathroom with shower, bath and two hand basins. The bedroom has two single beds, fan and radio. There is a separate lounge / dining room with fan and DSTV. The kitchenette is fully equipped with hotplate, microwave oven and fridge. A parking bay is available in front of the premises. Attractions and ActivitiesThis is the perfect base to explore Cape Town (60km), Stellenbosch (20km) Franschhoek and Hermanus. The long sheltered beaches of False Bay are excellent for swimming, sunbathing and are especially popular with water-sports enthusiasts. Strand’s main beaches are Melkbaai and Harmony beach. Both Strand and Gordon’s Bay’s main beaches are flanked by a promenade, which is lined with café’s, restaurants and shops. There is plenty of parking right on the beachfront. The narrow sheltered Bikini beach nestles between the mountain and the Gordons Bay harbour. For the best surfing experience Kogel Bay beach is a must. The Strand also boasts a heated Olympic size indoor swimming pool situated next to the Strand Pavilion on Beach Road, for those cooler days. Charter cruises are an alternative means of viewing the Helderburg from the deck of a charter boat. Charter cruises leave daily (weather permitting). The coastal road from Gordon’s Bay to Rooi Els and Betty’s Bay, named Clarence Drive, and is a spectacular route with steep cliffs and lovely coves. The route offers amazing views over False Bay. Whale watching is possible between June and December each year when Southern Right whales visit False Bay. The best places to spot them are official watching spots on the coastal road from Gordon’s Bay to Rooi Els. ACCREDITATIONS
