What to say about the Blue Jay Lodge? Too difficult to put into words, come and see for yourself. (Or maybe not, there won't be room for us any more) Seriously, it is absolutely the perfect place to be. Maybe it is the way Phil and Margi look at the details in the rooms or at the brakfast table (freshly cut fruit salad, a choice of cheeses) that make the stay so special. But the greatest asset are the hosts themselves. Always there for a chat, ready to discuss politics the world cup .... don't miss the chance to have a barbecue with them.

We started our honeymoon at Blue Jay Lodge and was very pleased with the Lodge. We were extremely happy with our beautiful room and view. We enjoyed the personal service and the great hospitality by the owners (Phillip and Margi). Phillip made excellent recommendations for dinner and we loved every second of our stay. A picnic hamper was provided when we went to the Kruger Park before breakfast, and we were really surprised with the amount of effort that had gone into the picnic hamper.
We would recommend this Lodge to all travelers who want to experience some of the best hospitality South Africa has to offer.

Review by: Karen and Steve Armitage, Chiseldon, Wiltshire (stayed: October 2007)
We started our trip to South Africa at the Blue Jay Lodge. Phil and Margi were wonderful and made us feel right at home. They provided advice on viewing game in the park and the best places to eat. However, the best evening was Phil's barbecue and homemade bread that went on the griddle. The accommodation was fanatastic and really well thought out. We are longing to go back and but this time with the the new addition to our family. |
