Biesievlak camp area is situated on Biesievlak Farm which is next to the Olifants River in the upper river area of Citrusdal on the Keerom road. The camp area is nestled on grass next to river under wild fig tree and oak trees on a citrus farm. The campsite has abundance of birds with over 100 species been identified included, secretary bird, Egrets, Herons, Cormorants, grebes and loads more.

The campsite is very secluded and covered in grass and next to the river is the braai area with ablution facilities under an old oak tree and wild fig tree.

The camp area has:
• Wild Flowers during spring, birds
• Hiking trail with bushmen paintings
• Close to river, weird rock formations
• Rock climbing and mountain biking

Citrusdal


Citrusdal is the gate way to the Cederberg Mountains a quiet, unspoilt town dating back to the late seventeen hundreds. It is situated 170 km north of Cape Town on the N7, which is also the main route to Namibia. The dramatically beautiful Cederberg range is to the East and Lamberts Bay, famous for its seafood and bird island only 110 km to the West.

To the East is Koue Bokkeveld which is home to famous Soft fruit area of Ceres. The village is also centrally situated for best left surf break in Africa + one of top ten rock climbing spots in world at Rocklands.

Citrusdal hosts the 2 valley and a mountains mountain bike challenge, 4x4 and quad bike Festival, Olifants river Canoe challenge and more than one golf tournaments. During August/September the valley is covered with the spring flowers and the Olifants river flows right past the town

Citrusdal is a nature lovers paradise offering scenic hikes. Bird watchers are afforded the opportunity of seeing many of the species endemic to the fynbos and Karoo vegetation.
