Beacon Lodge B&B is small, personal and intimate B&B with only two rooms where you can be assured of laid-back comfort while enjoying the sea, sun and the beaches of Plettenberg Bay - the Jewel of the Garden Route. Our little bit of Paradise is within walking distance of the lagoon and Lookout Beach.

Accommodation


Room With A View
Room with a View is our largest room with, as its name implies, a lovely view over the garden to the lagoon and the sea, with the mountains in the distance. It has twin beds which we dress with white or cream pure cotton or linen. A writing desk and a seating area make this room comfortable. The en-suite bathroom has marble floors with shower, basin and toilet. You will find a tea/coffee tray, extra cotton or mohair blankets, hairdryer etc. for your convenience.

Earl's Court
Earl’s Court Room is a smaller room with a queen size bed, en-suite bathroom with shower, basin and toilet. Tea/coffee tray, extra warm blankets are provided. This room has a small private garden with table and chairs next to the lavender bushes.


Follow the winding path to the patio which looks out to the lagoon and the sea. This is where we serve a full English breakfast with whatever fruit is in season and fruit juice to start, cereals and toast tea and coffee.

Facilities


From July to November which is whaling season you can see them from our patio playing in the bay or sit quietly and watch the various birds which inhabit the garden. The patio is where you might want to sit and write postcards, while you enjoy the view and the restful atmosphere.

Should you need a beach umbrella and some beach towels we will be only too happy to supply. The lagoon is in walking distance and the other beaches are a short drive from the house. There are many fine restaurants in town which is also within walking distance from Beacon Lodge.

Activities and Attractions


There are two golf courses in Plettenberg Bay both very close to Beacon Lodge B&B, a gym and a shopping centre just a two minute walk away. In and around our area you will find, The Birds of Eden, the largest bird enclosure in the world and a must even for those who are not bird mad. At the same venue is Monkeyland and close by you can visit and touch the elephants at the Elephant Sanctuary and visit the small cats at Tiniqua.

A little further on the N2 is the world’s highest bungy jump and still further in Tsitsikamma you can swing from tree to tree on the Canopy Tour. For those that prefer the sea activities, snorkeling, canoeing, surfing, sailing and kite boarding are available. Hiking on Robberg peninsula is a magnificent experience which can take from half an hour to 4 hours. We always recommend that guests take a picnic lunch and enjoy this from the various viewpoints or the beach.

We also have game parks which offer safaris bringing you really close to the animals. Don’t forget the whale watching boats which take visitors out to sea, to watch the whales, dolphins and the seals.

All in all there is so much to do in and around Plettenberg Bay that one night and a half a day is simply not enough in which to enjoy all that is on offer.
