Self Catering Accommodation
The Beach House Lodge is positioned directly on the secluded Salt Rock beach. Four very spacious and luxurious bedrooms, all en suite and some have their private TV lounge. All rooms have incredible sea views! Sleeping only eight guests, it offers absolute luxury and privacy overlooking the sea from an expansive pool deck.
A magnificent wooden pool deck runs the entire width of the lodge and overlooks the sea. There is ample outdoor furniture for lounging and soaking up the sun while you watch the dolphins play. During the winter months the whales are spotted regularly right in front of the lodge and can be seen from every room in the house.
Every room has DStv which has the following channels: SABC 1, 2, and 3, MNet, MM1, MM2 and sport channels. If you choose to socialise while watching TV, the lounge area downstairs has a large LED TV. There is 24 hour security, three lock up garages and secure parking for another four cars.

The Salt Rock Hotel next door on the South side of the lodge offers a casual buffet and fantastic carvery and are famous for their delicious traditional Durban curries and excellent fresh fish and chips. Next door on the North side is The Canelands Boutique Hotel with yet another superb restaurant. There are four excellent restaurants within walking distance from the lodge.
There are two tidal pools for calm leisurely swims which are perfect for small children. The beach directly in front of the lodge offers excellent fishing and has perfect conditions for paddle-skiing, kite boarding, swimming and surfing. It is protected by shark nets and the main beach (200m to the South) has professional life guards on duty.
With plenty of activities to choose from, the Dolphin Coast has a lot to offer visitors. One can choose from playing golf at one of four magnificent golf courses, visiting the crocodile and animal farms, historical sites, nature reserves, nurseries, cultural villages, taking a marine excursion or simply soaking up the sun on the golden beaches.
The beach is the main attraction for most visitors to KwaZulu Natal and the Dolphin Coast has a magnificent stretch of golden beaches and sheltered coves that are ideal for a day of fun in the sun.
The North Coast is a hidden treasure of history and culture. Cultural and historical influences vary from European, Indian and Zulu. The region has an embattled past, ruled by some of the most respected and feared warrior chiefs. The many cultural dependants of the various role players of the region offer a unique and fascinating experience.

Having said that we have five great restaurants within walking distance of The Beach House Lodge, you may also wish to venture to the town of Ballito for more variety or further along the coast to Umhlanga and the Gateway Theatre of Shopping. There are great places to shop ‘til you drop, from the curios shops to the designer boutique stores of famous brands, you are sure to find what you’re looking for from a wide range of goods and services. Then, whether you’re in the mood for Italian, Chinese, French, Portuguese, superb Seafood or a simple cup of coffee with a homemade baked treat on the side, any one of Ballito’s wonderful restaurants and cosy coffee shops guarantee fine dining for any appetite as well as a load more choice in Umdloti or Umhlanga.
