ATTRACTIONS NEARBY:Visit Robben Island by going to the Nelson Mandela gateway at the V&A Waterfront’s clock tower precinct which is the departure point for the ferries and a tour of Robben Island and it’s maximum security prison, where Nelson Mandela was incarcerated. There is always something going on at the popular V&A Waterfront. There are entertainers and live music at the open air Amphitheatre, many indoor cinemas including an Imax theatre, arts and crafts, curio shops, the Two Oceans Aquarium and the South African Maritime Museum. There are numerous taverns, pubs, restaurants, fast food and retail outlets to choose from. You can go on boat trips and harbour cruises, water taxis, helicopter flips, and seaplane rides, topless bus tours, deep sea diving, sailing, fishing, snorkelling, whale watching (seasonal), seal Island cruises and surfing. Visit the top of Table Mountain by cable car or hiking trail or visit the Castle of Good Hope for some history on South Africa or go on a wine tour by visiting some of our world class wine farms.
