A stay at this funky Klein Karoo hotel is an experience that can’t be missed! Just off the magnificently scenic Route 62, only 2.5 hours from Cape Town (en route between Cape Town and the Garden Route / Cango Caves), you’ll find the Barrydale Karoo Hotel nestled in the sun drenched valley of the Langeberg Mountains. Even in winter the day time temperature is moderate.

The Barrydale Karoo Hotel, under new management since April this year, has introduced a traditional Karoo Sunday lunch offering a delicious three course meal at value-for-money prices! Pub lunches are also available on Saturdays.

Accommodation

The hotel has 15 rooms so it’s easy enough to book the whole hotel and fill it exclusively with your friends for a special occasion or just a good party. We have a variety of catering options available and can tailor-make a weekend to suit your occasion. We have a piano, a CD player, DVD and even a turntable with a great selection of vinyl records in the bar. Guests are also invited to bring their own vinyls and play DJ themselves!

There are plans afoot to restore the Belanti, the beautiful old cinema on the hotel premises. This will be available for private functions plus it will provide a live music venue and an annual blues festival is on the cards. Until the Belanti is ready there are movie nights held in the pub every 2nd Sunday night where classic movies and popcorn are enjoyed by all.

Our rates include a hearty Karoo breakfast and we offer greatly reduced prices when you book the whole hotel for one night or more. We also offer free Wi-Fi throughout the hotel.

Wining and Dining

We have an extensive wine list, which includes the best local wines, in our fully stocked bar. Cigars, single malt whiskeys and cognacs are also available for the connoisseur. For dinner we have the excellent restaurant Mez on our premises and at the end of the evening snuggle under luxurious percale linen with electric blankets to beat the cold.

Barrydale

Barrydale offers the visitor much to see and explore – aside from the beautiful walks in the area you can browse the picturesque village of Barrydale, take a drive though the scenic Tradauw Pass which is very close by, unwind in the hot springs, a 20 minute drive from the hotel or just relax in front of the open fires and enjoy fine wines, ports and bubbly in our character-filled bar.

This eclectic hotel is a mix of old and new and has something to offer for everyone.
