Escape the city bedlam and experience the tranquility of nature. Barn Guesthouse is ideally situated for travellers from Limpopo and Mpumalanga to Cape Province. Barn Guesthouse is a working cattle and maize farm situated on the N1, 22km south of Kroonstad, directly next to the N1.

An old dairy has been converted into an indoor braai which is ideal for private functions or conferences. We also offer outdoor braai / lapa facilities. Bring your quad bike and enjoy the freedom of farm life, or just come and have a peaceful rest on the farm with your host Aljo Schutte.

Accommodation

We offer five luxury 3-star rooms each with your private entrance from the garden and a wonderful view over the sheep fields. All rooms have en-suite bathrooms with showers and the family room is equipped with a bath and shower. Three of the luxury rooms have king size beds.

Mattresses, linen and bath towels are of high quality. All the rooms are also equipped with their own TV with DSTV, air-conditioning, hairdryer, coffee and tea tray with home baked rusks, bar fridge with ice-cubes, updated magazines, detailed information about Kroonstad and important telephone numbers. In the winter you will find an electrical blanket on your bed with a hot water bottle.

We also have accommodation for groups or family reunion in a renovated farm house 30 metres from the guesthouse. The house consists of four bedrooms, two bathrooms and a living room. Rooms are equipped with their own coffee / tea tray with home baked rusks. Mattresses, linen and bath towels are of high quality.

Dining

Continental breakfast is served in the dining room. Other meals are also available on request. Lunch packs can also be organised. We have indoor and outdoor braai facilities, we sell braai packs served with “pap” and sauce, and we provide the wood.

Location

Barn Guesthouse is situated 22km south of Kroonstad on the N1 or 22km north of Ventersburg on the N1. Turn-off at the Wonderkop / Holfontein sign and 100 metres on the dire road you turn right to the guesthouse farm.
