Avalon is an upmarket, affordable self-catering holiday studio, located in the beautiful countryside just outside Knysna. It is ideal for couples who want to leave city life behind and become immersed in peace and nature. Avalon offers you home from home, and best of all, is dog friendly. Situated on 9 acres of tranquil farmland, Avalon is surrounded by the famous Knysna forests. Nearby, you will find exceptional golf courses, 7 kilometers of uninterrupted golden beach and blue surf, a bustling and lively town, mountain bike trails, gold fields, a tea garden, an arts and crafts ramble, forest walks, a restaurant and pub, rivers, a mini supermarket, and of course the world renowned Knysna Lagoon, to name but a few. AccommodationAvalon sleeps two adults and is perfectly equipped for any length of stay. There is an extra length Queen bed, linens and a king duvet. The bedroom area has a built in cupboard, safe, and an extra blanket. The lounge has his and hers leather couches, and a flat screen with full satellite TV. Avalon's well equipped and spacious kitchen has a stainless steel oven and stove, crockery, cutlery, glasses, pots, pans, and a bar counter to sit at for that scrumptious breakfast. In the en-suite bathroom you will find an open-plan rain shower, modern sink, loo and central heating. We provide bath and beach towels. Avalon is north and west facing, and is warm and sunny. In summer just turn on the central air-conditioning, and for those chilly winter nights there is central heating. The studio is on the ground floor. The front patio is paved and has views of the Outeniqua Mountains to the north. Here you will find an outdoor table and chairs (that can also be taken indoors for dining), umbrella and gas BBQ. There is a covered parking bay just a few steps from the garden. Views to the south are of the lush Knysna forests, and the paved rear patio is perfect for hanging up your wet swimming costume and towel. Dog FriendlyAvalon is dog friendly, and has a fully fenced garden area for your dog to romp around in. Gates lead you out to the rest of the property, where your dog can play with our dogs, or just be left to his own devices. Please noteAvalon has a strict no smoking policy indoors, and due to the nature of our surroundings, wayward cigarette butts can start fires. You are welcome to smoke on the patio areas - ashtrays are provided. Regrettably, no children and no cats are allowed. Activities and AttractionsThere are countless things to see and do - elephant walks, tree-top adventures, whale watching, bungee jumping, the Knysna Oyster Festival in July, the Gastronomica Food Festival in September, the Gay Mardi-Gras Parade in May, shopping malls, every imaginable restaurant to suit every taste and budget, the Knysna Heads (the majestic cliffs leading into the lagoon), endless beaches, bird watching, bicycling, swimming, horse riding, or just sitting and watching this fascinating world go by...
