Prince Albert is a special place with many special people to meet, who will gladly share their knowledge and talents with you.

Ailsa will take you for a ghost tour to discover the history and the architecture of the Victorian and Cape Dutch houses - a great story teller with a great sense of humour. Hans and Tilanie will show you the stars from their private observatory and explain the reasons for the exquisite sunsets in the Karoo.

Sue, a botanist, will tell you about the succulent and other Karoo plants in the nearby nature reserve. On Saturday, you can meet Brett the Vet at our morning market, selling his permaculture organic vegetables. In the Seven Arches building, Brent will show you the work of local artists in the art gallery, or treat you to a delicious dinner at the Gallery Café.

Across the road, browse the fascinating history and heritage of Prince Albert at the Fransie Pienaar museum.

We cannot name them all …. the many restaurants, coffee shops, galleries, antiques, weaveries, blacksmith - and the interesting people who run them.

Enjoy wine tasting at one of our four vineyards, taste olive oil at one of our olive farms, and don’t forget to try the cheeses at Gay’s Dairy. Walk and explore the Koppie overlooking the town …. the flowers, birds, insects, springboks, tortoises and the incredible view.

For the fitter individual, cycle up or climb the Swartberg Pass - one of the most scenic and spectacular in South Africa. For the more casually inclined, cycle or walk along the many roads around Prince Albert.
