Map and Directions to Arundel House Studios in Clarens, Thabo Mofutsanyana, Free State

DIRECTIONS

At bottom of Clarens turn right on to Golden Gate Road. After 100m turn right (sign posted Fouriesburg) pass Clarens Golf Club on left. Take next left sign posted Schaaplaats and follow the road over the river (road turns to gravel), continue for 300m. Turn left at green Bethel Estate sign. When road splits turn left down the hill and after 50m take the second right past house on left. Follow track for 100m Arundel house is Grey house on hill above the oak tree.

From Johannesburg:
Total distance approx. 310 km. Take the N3 Durban towards Villiers.

Before Villiers there is an Engen petrol station. 3km after the Engen petrol station take Villiers – Suid (South) – Frankfort (Exit 169) turn-off (The signboard – R51 Villiers (Suid) and R103 Frankfort). Turn right at the top of the bridge towards Frankfort. (This is the last turn-off before the Tollgate at Villiers.)

After approximately 30km, you will reach a T-junction (just before Frankfort) – turn right. (Signboard – R34 Frankfort, R26 Reitz)

Travel for approximately 6 km. Just after Frankfort go over a bridge (Wilge River) and turn left towards Reitz. (Signboard - R26 Reitz)

After approximately 60km, you will reach a 4-way stop (outside Reitz) – continue straight to Bethlehem (R26) (you don’t go through Reitz)

Travel for approximately 50km to Bethlehem – Reaching Bethlehem there will be a Shopping Center on your right hand side (Pick & Pay) where you, if needed, could do some shopping. Or just continue straight, the road becomes N5 to Kestell & Harrismith.

Approx.5km after Bethlehem turn right towards Clarens & Golden Gate (R712). Travel approximately 30km to Clarens

Pass the entry into Clarens and take the next turn to the right which is the N711 to Fouriesburg.

Pass the Golf and Trout Estate on your left hand side
and turn left at the first road on your left (the S1028).

After + 1 km of tarmac road, it turns into a dirt road (slow driving!)

At the green sign for Bethel Estate, you turn left between brick walls. Before you reach a gate, make a sharp turn to the left, following the sign JoVaLi. You go down for about 50 meters and take the second turn to your right. You then will pass the JoVali accommodation on your left hand. At the end of the road you drive up to Arundel House. Pass the house and make a sharp turn behind the garage. When you continue, you will find the parking space in front of the studio’s at your right.
