Arundel House is ideal for both couples and families. With two private self contained suites and a beautiful three bedroom house it offers flexible, affordable accommodation. The house was featured as ‘House of the month’ by House and Leisure magazine, because of its outstanding location and décor.

Arundel House has breathtaking un-interrupted mountain views looking into golden gate from your bed. The house is set on just over 4ha stand with 100m of river frontage. The house is set in Bethel Estate which sits high on a ridge that boasts great views from Mount Horeb and Golden gate to the Maluti Mountains, and even the Witteberge towards Ficksburg (seriously good views).

Self Catering Accommodation

The house offers a full kitchen with a top quality range style stove (900mm), microwave, large fridge/freezer and dining area. There is an open plan living area with a high vaulted ceiling. Full DSTV is provided and the lounge is furnished with leather antique Chesterfield couches and many other interesting antiques. An imported top of the range wood burning stove from Europe keeps you warm in the winter.

All three bedrooms have fantastic views, hand built furniture, and a queen size beds with pure cotton linens from Europe. There are electric blankets for those chilly Clarens winter nights. Each bedroom has a beautiful bathroom complete with a roll top baths with fluffy towels provided. Enjoy the view of the mountains in our outside shower.

There is a large stoep with a braai and beautiful garden where you can completely relax and enjoy watching our ducks and chickens.

Arundel House also has two beautiful self-contained suites suitable for couples (in the past ten months we have had two honeymoons and five engagements). The whole combined house can accommodate up to ten people, ideal for large families, reunions or even business.

Roam the open countryside. Swim in the crystal clear pools of the private stretch of the Little Caledon which meanders through our valley. Picnic and braai under the shade of the weeping willows.
