Overlooking the Melville Koppies, Arum Place Guest House is a small private retreat, although only a minute’s drive away from the Melville buzz.

Our venue is ideal for small corporate groups. Delegates can unwind in a group, while dinner is served in a relaxed atmosphere in the dining room or the patio outside. The large patios, with stunning views from the top of a hill, are ideal for entertaining and social events after training / conference. A barbeque/ braai can be arranged for groups.

Accommodation

The spacious rooms with wooden floors and steel pressed ceilings are beautifully restored and individually decorated. Four luxurious rooms with full en-suite bathrooms are situated inside the main house and three self catering units are available for longer stays.

Three of the rooms have king-size beds which can be converted into twin beds on request. Each room has been decorated, furnished and equipped according to the Tourism Grading Council of South Africa’s (TGCSA) criteria for four star grading.

Ebony and Ivory
This is our most basic room with a double sleigh bed, en-suite bathroom with bath only. Walls are decorated with wallpaper in a black and white damask design.

Touch of Grey
Large bedroom with king size/twin beds, a private patio. The king size bed can be split into two single beds on request. A magnificent en-suite bathroom with a Victorian bath and separate shower is inviting you to unwind.

Shades of Blue
A divine open-plan bathroom with large oval bathtub to soak in while you watch your favorite DSTV channel. Separate shower and private toilet. Bubble bath is complimentary. A luxurious king-size bed with percale cotton linen awaits your tired body. Have early morning coffee on your own patio.

Peaches and Cream
An extra large sunny room with a balcony with views over Melville Koppies. Full en-suite bathroom with bath and shower. The wallpaper is a cheerful cream damask design. A daybed can be added on request for a child to share the room.

Self-catering units

The self-catering units have all the comforts as in the rooms. The kitchenettes are equipped with a washbasin, fridge, microwave oven, kettle, refrigerator, toaster, crockery and cutlery, ironing board and iron.

Golden Slumber
Kitchenette, bedroom with king-size/twin beds, en-suite bathroom with Victorian bath and separate shower. A patio with a view over the garden, separate entrance and parking. Decorated in a subtle chinoiserie pattern, gold damask curtains complete the picture. Ideally suited for the business executive wanting privacy and luxury. PVR with full DSTV functionality. A daybed can be added on request for a child to share the room.

Sugar and Spice
Kitchenette, bedroom with a queen size bed, dining area. A bronze damask wallpaper pattern decorates the walls in the bedroom and bathroom. Full en-suite bathroom, separate entrance and parking. Small patio, close to the sparkling blue pool.

Arum Cottage
Kitchenette, bedroom with double bed, bathroom with shower only. Patio. This unit is often rented for long periods as a unit at discounted rates. Soft mint colored wallpaper gives the room a cozy feeling.

Breakfast and Dining

Farmhouse breakfast included, served in the dining room or on the patio should weather permit. Dinner by arrangement, provision made for special dietary needs. Take-out delivery service. Close to bars, coffee shops, café’s, restaurants and delis.
