Activities and Attractions
We are situated on the Midlands Meander, The Gourmet Greek (fine cheeses and yoghurt and Abingdon Wine Estate (highly rated in Platters) with its world class restaurant, are our neighbours within easy walking distance. The Mandela monument, Midmar Dam, golf courses, Hilton and Michaelhouse schools and a wide choice of top class eating venues are within 15 minutes of us.
The countryside around the farm lends itself to walking, around the farm and in the hills surrounding the farm, as well as mountain biking as we have interesting rides through the forests and some of the best trails in the country, per kind favour of the Howick cycling club. It is a good idea to contact the club to obtain permission and advice as to the technicality of their trails.
Beaches, the Drakensberg, Boer War, Ishandlawana Zulu battle fields and Durbanís King Shaka international airport are an hour and a half away. If we know what guests would like to do when staying at Amberleigh, trips to local attractions such as the Karkloof Canopy Tour or the Hluhluwe / Umfolozi game reserve can be arranged.
We do not have credit card facilities at the farm.
