Aliwalrest is ideal for couples, families with children, groups of friends, golf players, backpackers, divers or employees of business. We cater for groups of 10 people. Have a get together; birthday party with family or friends at Aliwalrest and enjoy the facilities of the braai area, spacious yard, jungle gym, smoking area or just relax in the peace and tranquility by sitting near the Koi pond and listen to the water fall as you watch the koi at day or the stars at night. Aliwalrest a place that guests call “Home away from home". AccommodationAliwalrest offers two clean and comfortable self-catering units accommodating six and four people. All amenities are provided, including bed linen, towels, cleaning materials and toiletries, as well as hospitality tea and coffee. A TV / DVD player with a range of DVDs are available for use by guests. There is a spacious yard with braai facilities, a jungle gym and separate smoking area. Private entrance with a covered parking, or fully fenced off- street parking for trailers and bigger vehicles. FacilitiesLaundry, housekeeping and baby-sitting are offered daily on request. Aliwalrest also offers a telephone and internet service in the vicinity. Transport to and from the airport can be arranged. Aliwalrest has a craft shop in the yard where you can shop at your convenience. We have lots of local art and craft, shells, garden ornaments, table cloths, etc. The beach, dive charters, golf course, restaurants, pubs, banks and shops are just minutes walk from our spot Aliwalrest. Attractions & ActivitiesUmkomaas a small quiet and peaceful town, welcomes you to an ideal holiday destination, situated just 30 minutes South of Durban International Airport, between Scottburgh and Amanzimtoti on the KwaZulu Natal South Coast. The Umkomaas river mouth is the focus of a thriving fishing and scuba diving industry. It is an excellent launch for ski boats and Aliwal Shoal, just five km offshore, is rated as one of the top ten scuba diving destinations in the world. Whales, sharks, Cape Gannets, game fish and dolphin watching, along with the Sardine Run, (annually June/July) are a must see. We are located close to Dive Charters and can arrange for guests that would like to go diving or fishing. Umkomaas Golf Course is a challenging course with stunning sea views situated just two minutes walk from Aliwalrest in Moodie Street. This area of the coast is often referred to as the Golf Coast due to the number of golf courses around. The locals are friendly and hospitable and I have no doubt that you will enjoy your stay.
