Africa’s Eden is a 2 acre estate situated along a small green belt, wedged between 2 streams - hardly what you would expect to find a mere 2.5 km from the City Hall, centre of town, all the shopping malls, restaurants and facilities.

Accommodation

The security remote controlled gate and very long driveway ensures parking safer than most can offer these days. There is a choice of 3 units, each with their own separate entrance, en suite bath and shower, TV, air conditioner, ceiling fans, fridge, microwave oven, kettle toaster and all light self catering cutlery and crockery.

Very comfortable single beds, which can be pushed together if you want to be closer to your partner as well as a double sleeper couch in the Ingelosi Room. We have a starter kit of coffee, tea and sugar plus milk in each fridge on arrival. There are tables and umbrellas with Weber braai facilities for those preferring to spend their time out doors.

Even though we all do whatever we can to save energy, for the days or nights of unbearably extreme weather conditions, each room gives you the option of cooling off or warming up with an air conditioner, or gentle breeze of a ceiling fan. Towels and soap is provided by us for your convenience. The rooms are all tastefully decorated by an artist with flair.

Facilities

Also table and chairs on the banks of the one stream if you can resist not simply stretching out on the lawn. For the more energetic a game of tennis on the "court in the bush", a walk in the gardens on the wild side, or swimming in the large pool while avid bird watchers will feast their senses on the rich variety of resident and visiting birds, ranging from raptors to the rarely seen Buffspotted Flufftail.

Breakfast & Dining

Rooms are serviced daily except for Sundays and public holidays. The light self catering equipment makes Africa’s Eden a favorite for folk who prefer to do their own thing at their own leisure… like bring along a box of cereal, bread to toast or fruit. For those who prefer to have breakfast served to them, we offer either health or full English breakfasts in the dining room with a view or outside on one of the patios.

For your dinners, we have a real blessing for which we can take no credit, to offer you. There are 3 of the best restaurants in Pietermaritzburg within walking distance from us, ranging from awesome pizzas and pasta dishes to The Butchery and a Sports Bar, and if so inclined, a more up market establishment, the choice is yours.

If your business requires you to have dinner included in your package, we can oblige. Even though there are a number of Laundromats nearby, your laundry can be done by prior arrangement at reasonable cost on the premises, weather permitting.

Location

The start of the Comrades Marathon, many major cycling events, the famous Duzi Canoe Marathon, both golf courses among other sports facilities as well as the cream of South African schools, hospitals and our beautiful City of Choice’s government departments and business Districts, are all under 10 minutes drive from us, even when roads are at their busiest! A lot of tourists use us as a base from which to tour and investigate our beautiful province, doing day trips either into the Midlands and Drakensberg, or down to the beaches, both which are not more than an hour’s drive from here.

Our location is therefore ideal for the tired businessman to recharge batteries, folk participating in sporting events, parents attending school functions, tourists, or anyone needing to soak up a bit of our Africa’s Eden.
