African Sun Guest House is situated on the border of George, on the Outeniqua Country Hop Route offering you a farm experience without the gravel roads and allows you to enjoy the amenities of town within minutes. We are situated on the R404, only 2kms away from the renowned Fancourt Golf Estate and 4kms from the George Airport.

Accommodation


We have two flats each with two bedrooms, a full bathroom, lounge and kitchen. The main room has a double bed the other two single beds.

Three units which have their own bathroom and open onto the verandah, these each have a TV, microwave kettle and toaster also crockery and cutlery. The units have either a double bed or two single beds.

Meals


A full South African breakfast is served and dinner is available on request.

Location


Located on a small holding, surrounded by strawberry and raspberry fields which are in walking distance and open to the public for strawberry picking.

Activities and Attractions


Guided tours can be arranged to the Three Camelions Golf Course, Redberry Farm, Silver Lily Cheese Farm and the Utopia Game Farm, all within a 2 km radius.

The coast line stretches from Stilbay to Plettenberg Bay, offering whale watching, (season is between June- November), and with beautiful stretches of coastline for land-based viewing. Herold’s Bay is approximately 10 minutes drive offering a white sand cosy bay with secure tidal pools for snorkelling and the children to enjoy.

Our location at the foot of the majestic Outeniqua Mountains, offers many walking trails surrounded by cascading streams feeding the diverse species of fynbos and proteas. Meander through to Oudtshoorn on the well known Montagu Pass rich with history, exploring wine estates and fruit farms.

Oudtshoorn offers a host of entertainment from, ostrich rides, cage diving with a crocodile or a unique encounter with the cheetahs. The Cango Caves are an adventure of their own with tunnels and rooms of exciting experiences. Mossel Bay, Knysna and Outdshoorn are all within a 50 km radius, which makes George very central for diverse day trips.

The Garden Route extends to Storms River. Meander through Wilderness, Knysna and Plettenberg Bay all on route to the Tsitsikama Forest, approximately 150 kms distance.

As a family run business we ensure hands on service and attempt to accommodate each individual’s requirements. Children experience a farm style get away exploring, feeding the animals and collecting the freshly laid eggs.
