No 4 Lagoon Cabanas offers a unique combination of a ground floor unit set in a sunny spacious tropical garden with sparkling pool yet only 100 metres from the unspoilt Southbroom beach and lagoon. The complex has only 12 cabanas all at ground floor level and this makes a welcome change from the prevailing high density developments where normally the grounds would be made to accommodate 3 times as many units. The lounge and main bedroom open up onto this picturesque garden filled with birds ... great to wake up to in the morning. AccommodationThe cabana itself consists of lounge / dining room, 2 bedrooms comfortably furnished with 1 double bed, 2 single beds and a sleeper couch, 1.5 bathrooms, and a kitchen with stove, fridge, dishwasher and microwave. The cabana is wired for satellite TV (DSTV), with a sound system and of course includes all braaing (barbecue) facilities. (A DSTV access card can be rented from the managing agent, or bring your own). The accommodation is nicely done and offers friendly family accommodation. FacilitiesA high speed ADSL line is available at no cost. Please note that to use it you need you bring your own router as well as with your laptop. This is because your router is configured with your own user id and password together with details of your internet service provider. The complex is fully enclosed with lock-up gates (remote controlled vehicle access) and security fencing. The unit is fitted with security gates, burglar bars and burglar alarm. There is open parking in the grounds. Note:This unit is not on the beach. As the listing says it is 100 metres from the beach. It does not have a sea view. The sea view photos shown above are from the adjacent Southbroom beach and lagoon and from and of the RipTide restaurant on Southbroom beach. The unit is compact and about 80-90 square metres in size. Attractions & ActivitiesThe idyllic Southbroom beach and lagoon is a stone's throw away and offers you and your family all you need for an enjoyable beach outing with little or no effort. This is a recognized surfing spot as well and the other day we spotted the current South African longboard champion doing his stuff. The beach is also popular with anglers. It is shark net protected and has lifeguards on duty. There is a kiddies rock pool and if it is windy you can set up on the grass embankments just above the beach. A short walk to southwards will bring you to another rock pool - "Granny's Pool" and cove in Southbroom, one of South Africa's most upmarket areas. You can walk along the beach to the Riptide restaurant and enjoy a meal with great vistas over the lagoon, beach and ocean. No need to worry about having a drink or 2 then having to drive! My wife and I have spent many a happy hour at this restaurant enjoying the very reasonably priced cuisine and soaking up the views then walking back to the cabana. Alternatively, there is a great 45 minute walk northwards to the Ramsgate blue flag beach along a special seaward walking path. Southwards you have easy access to Southbroom with the possibilities of many scenic walks around the world class golf course with the Indian ocean always beckoning nearby. This is a great place to just hang out away from the crowds yet have easy access to all the local attractions. It has a nice comfortable holiday feel to it because it fits into the natural surroundings so adroitly. Other Hibiscus Coast destinations and attractions are all within easy reach as is the N2 freeway. The Hibiscus coast with its many flowering trees, bushes and shrubs, wild life including monkeys, birds and buck, and idyllic beaches washed by the warm Indian ocean actually has to be of the best kept secrets on planet earth.
