17 on Loader Guest House is situated in the heart of one of Cape Town’s oldest, trendiest and most sought-after areas, De Waterkant. Situated on the slopes of Cape Town’s Signal Hill and overlooking the Cape Town harbour and world famous V&A Waterfront.

The area known as De Waterkant is well known for its unique and original Cape architecture, quaint, cobbled streets, with many boutiques, coffee shops and delis to entice the most discerning traveller’s tastes and palates.

17 On Loader Guest House is conveniently situated within walking distance of the Cape Town city centre, the Waterfront, several health centres and some of Cape Town’s most popular restaurants and clubs. De Waterkant is considered to be a safe area, and is patrolled by security staff and dogs on a 24-hour basis. The guest house is on three levels and has a large roof terrace with views of Table Mountain, the harbour, the Waterfront and Cape Town city centre.

The reception area of No 17 on Loader comprises a large living area and double volume skylight, making it light, bright and airy. A special feature of the house is its large roof deck, with picture-perfect 360-degree views of Cape Town city centre, Table Mountain, the distant Helderberg mountains, the busy harbour and Waterfront, or of nearby Signal Hill. Underfloor heating keeps the guest house beautifully warm during the winter while huge plane trees keep the front of the property cool during the long, hot summer months.

There are comfortable chairs and loungers on the roof deck, making this the perfect place to have early morning coffee watching the sunrise, or to suntan during the hot days, take a cold shower under our beautiful South African skies, or alternatively, you can enjoy sundowners, and just revel in the beauty that is Cape Town.

ACCOMMODATION

There are nine bedrooms, comprising two single and seven double/twin rooms, most being en-suite, with heated towel rails and wall-mounted television sets in many of the rooms. All linen and towels are 100% pure white cotton of the highest quality, and only natural bathroom products are used, including special sun screens to protect against Africa’s harsh sun.

BREAKFAST

Our rates include a continental breakfast each morning (7AM - 11AM) which is served in a basket for guests to enjoy in their rooms, the roof terrace, the front balcony or the dining room. Tea and coffee facilities and an honesty bar are also available.

SERVICES & FACILITIES

We also offer the following services and facilities: We provide safety deposit boxes; a Wi-Fi zone, cell phone rentals; airport transfers, restaurant and club bookings, visitors' information and recommendations, car rentals, tour bookings and itineraries, sun worshipping or star gazing on the roof terrace, private functions (fully catered) for up to 200 guest functions (barbeques, dinners, cocktail parties) and rotating art exhibitions displaying the work of local artists.

PRIVATE FUNCTIONS

We regularly host private functions and can accommodate up to 200 people. We also cater for special celebratory meals, barbecues, and champagne breakfasts for our guests at their request. We also regularly host Cape Town weddings or commitment couples on that very special night.
