15 on Bay is a self catering beach house, perched on the magnificent cliffs of De Kelders in the quaint fishing village of Gansbaai. Breathtaking, unobstructed views of the ocean and mountains can be seen.
15 on Bay is located in the second row from the beachfront and within a short walking distance of a pristine nature / marine reserve with white sandy beaches and large open caves which are of archaeological interest.
The house is an open plan living area that connects the kitchen, pool table entertainment area, lounge and dining room. There is an inside braai for the bad weather and an outside undercover braai on the veranda overlooking the ocean. This veranda is the vocal point of the house and most of the time will be spent watching the whales go by and the sunset over the Hermanus Mountains. The area is very safe and there is parking for four vehicles. No garage available.
There is a large colour TV with DStv dish (supply your own decoder and card) and the cosy fireplace ensures a comfortable stay. The kitchen is fully equipped with a microwave, conventional oven, fridge / freezer and all other utensils.
There is a 'no smoking inside the house' policy.
No pets are allowed.
Beach house
The spacious three bedroom house is furnished with beach house furniture and sleeps six people. Two of the rooms have double beds. The third room has two single beds. There are two bathrooms, both with showers and baths. Towels are not provided.
Self-catering flatlet
Consists of two bedrooms and one bathroom. The flat has its own kitchen and lounge. Towels are not provided.
Next to Stanford is the Birkenhead Brewery with its unusual beers and wine tasting. There are many wine farms to choose from in the area.
There is a beautiful hiking trail right in front of the house that winds along the rugged, Fynbos-lined cliffs next to the ocean. This is a perfect vantage point to watch the whales play in season (July to November) as they come right up to the cliff edge.
Visit the nearby Kleinbaai Harbour (10 km away) to participate in great white shark cage diving, boat based whale watching or pleasure cruises to the seal colony at Dyer Island. The Danger Point lighthouse is 10km away.
De Kelders is 20km from the arty town of Stanford. The town is historical and a riverboat is available to cruise down the river towards Hermanus. There are lots of arty shops and restaurants.
We are situated 180km from Cape Town, 40km from Hermanus and 5km from Gansbaai Town where fresh line fish is always available at the active harbour.
