It has been in operation since 1946. Springbok Atlas employs over 190 people at five locations and offers services throughout Southern Africa, from its own operations in South Africa and Namibia and with alliance partners in southern and East Africa. A complete destination management service is offered including Scheduled Tours, Tailor-made Group or Self-drive tours, Coach Hire, Incentives and Special Events, Conference and Congress Support Services and Transport Services. Our escorted scheduled departure tours include a comprehensive range of long distance tours, adventure breaks, short breaks and day tours. The company operates its own fleet of over 130 vehicles, with 24-hour operational support nationwide, from offices in Cape Town, Johannesburg, Durban, Port Elizabeth and Windhoek in Namibia. As a major player in the South African tourism industry, we are members of Southern African and overseas touring associations, whose aims include the improvement and promotion of touring facilities and services. The associations include SATSA, SITE, SAACI and TASA. We are also registered with the Namibian Tourism Board, the South African Tourism Board (SA Tourism) and are members of COASA, the Coach Operators Association of South Africa. Springbok Atlas was acquired by Imperial Holdings Limited, one of the leading public companies in South Africa, in December 1992. Considerable resources have since been spent in repositioning and improving the company. There has been extensive investment in a new world class coach fleet, management information technology, and the development of the management and staff. Tailor-made Group Tours & Individual Travel Specialist consultants design itineraries for groups or individuals, escorted or self-drive, to match specific requirements. Special Interest Travel Designed for any sized groups and covering a multitude of interests. Transport Services A fleet of over 130 vehicles is available for charter in a full range of sizes from 7 seat Minivans to 60 seat semi-luxury air conditioned coaches. Seat belts are fitted to all newer models. In addition we carry the most comprehensive passenger liability insurance available in Southern Africa. Airport Transfer Services A separate division dedicated to providing a professional meet & greet service on arrival, and airport transfers.
