About Wine Tasting at Doolhof

The understated elegance of the cool, air conditioned, blue and white Tasting Room at Doolhof Wine Estate provides the perfect foil to display our award winning wines. It is situated in the original wagon house built in the late 19th century and, with light flowing in from its large windows and doors, invites guests to linger awhile to taste and purchase superb wines.

A private tasting area situated at the end of the long room can be reserved for groups of six people. The service includes a tasting of seven or eight wines by Doolhof’s wine maker. (Please note that bookings are essential). A large terrace with cooling fountains and a shady garden, adjoins the Tasting Room, making it ideal for enjoying the light lunches on offer, or a quiet stroll through the gardens.

Tasting Room lunches: Light lunches prepared from fresh, local ingredients by the chef of Grand Dédale Country House on the estate, and paired with Doolhof Estate wines, are available from Tuesdays to Fridays (closed on Mondays). Reservations should be made 24 hours in advance.

Picnics: Delicious picnic lunches including vegetarian and kiddies’ picnics, are available to visitors. Reservations should be made 24 hours in advance with a 50% deposit, and by 12 noon on Fridays, for a weekend picnic basket. Doolhof wines of your choice are available at an additional cost. There is a River Walk and a hiking trail for further enjoyment.
