Food farmed on the urban edges is sold directly in this urban centre at the Willowbridge Slowfood Market. Only a small percentage of imported goodies are allowed on site so the majority of mouthwaterings are local labours of love. This formerly forgotten style of grocery selection is remembered here by producers who sell only products that they have grown, raised, caught, made, baked, preserved, crafted and/or transformed with their own hands.
Environmentally sensitive farming methods and unbroken delivery from farm to market means unfrozen freshness and unpreserved goodness. Woodfired breads, home-made pasta, garden greens, Saldanah oysters, organic meats, saucy sauces, vineyard wines, artisan delicacies and everyday eats are tasted and taken home.
Buy raw for home preparation or purchase already home-cooked for lair gatherings. Nutrients are dipped in decadence but satisfaction remains an earthly encounter.
