Things To Do in MuizenbergWhale Watching from Boyes Drive
Where? Boyes Drive, Muizenberg, False Bay Coast, Cape Town
When? Daylight hours.
How much? Free
Whether it be a passing drive or a leisurely stroll along Boyes Drive, there are many allocated stop-offs along the mountain side, where you can park off and view the vast ocean below. Surrounded by the False Bay waters and shark infested Seal Island, whales are a common sight within the bay.
Half way along Boyes Drive between Muizenberg and Kalk Bay is the perfect viewing point, where a mountain man equipped with binoculars and books of sea life information, will further educate you on the behavior of the whales and when these majestic creatures are most often seen throughout the year. Should you happen to stop off later in the day, there are sign boards with easy to read information on all there is to know about the whales.
You may also find that you come across some curious baboons so have your camera ready!
