The coastline of the Western Cape is not only beautiful, but also an adventurerís hotspot as it is home to a number of exciting watersports activities and attractions. Walker Bay, neighbour to the famous shark cage diving Mecca of Gansbaai, is a large bay between False Bay and Cape Agulhas that showcases stunning marine fauna and landscapes.
Exploring the bay on kayaks gives visitors the prime opportunity to combine adventure with the splendour and abundance of the South African coastline. The jade-green mountains and the sea cliffs promise the perfect backdrop to your kayaking expedition.
An experienced guide conducts a pre-trip briefing session, and will be present throughout to ensure that visitors get the most from the experience. Departing from the Old Harbour, you will head on a round trip of the bay, through a marine reserve. Between July and December, the whales that visit the warmer waters of the South African coastline are often spotted as they frolic inquisitively. However, there is legislation in place that prevents the kayaks from getting within 300 metres of these marine giants. Other animals that are commonly sighted include penguins, seals, cormorants and a variety of avian species.
The kayaking tours are conducted in an environmentally responsible way to protect the beautiful natural resources of the area.
