Walk the Cecilia Contour Path (Constantia Valley)
Categories: Hiking Trails / Walks & Hiking
Price group: Free (see other things to do in this price group)
Available in the following region(s): Constantia Valley / Southern Suburbs
Address: Constantia Nek, Constantia Valley, Cape Town.
Telephone: Not applicable.
This is a perfect 7km route for both hikers and joggers alike as its almost all in the shade (very important during the summer!). An early arrival at Constantia Nek start is advisable as finding a parking spot can be difficult once it gets a bit busier.
Apart from remembering to take the left route once the path splits, the route is easy. You just need to follow the path all the way to the Table Mountain Cable Station. The forest is filled with pine and gum trees, and one should remember to look out for the avenue of trees on Old Rhodes Avenue planted by Cecil John Rhodes in 1895.
Please always remember to take:
• a charged cell phone
• plenty of drinking water
• snacks
• a hat
• sunblock
• something warm (the weather can change quickly)
• suitable walking shoes
