About Wagon Wheel Brew Pub

Amongst the towns of Stellenbosch, Paarl and Franschhoek, in the heart of the Cape Winelands, is the stunning vineyard of Anura. This farm is set against the exquisite backdrop of the Simonsberg Mountain Range and now boasts the latest addition to its already varied offering – the Wagon Trail Brewery and Pub.

This is a microbrewery that is producing excellent flavours and colours to tempt a range of palate preferences. Wagon Trail has a capacity of a 500 litre batch. It combines expertise and passion to create a range of craft beers.

There is also a brewpub, which is a restaurant and pub that serves these craft beers on site as well as a range of tasty dishes and snacks. Hand-produced cured meats, decadent cheeses and upmarket pub grub are on offer for the very hungry or for those wanting a savoury treat to bring out the excellent flavours of their beer. Dishes include hearty beef burgers, spicy chicken wings, and vegetable chips, adding a modern touch to ‘pub ‘n grub’ style dining.

The golden hues of the craft beers are best enjoyed while drinking in the views of the Lillypad Pond from the sizeable deck.

Wagon Trail Pub is situated along the service route used in 1819, and the beers are designed to pay respect to the old servicemen that once created and used the trail, despite opposition and trials. Tying in the history of the area with the delicately crafted flavours of these unique, refreshing beers is part of what lends the Wagon Trail Brewery and Pub such a distinctive, irresistible charm.

The pub is only closed on Mondays. The capital city of the Western Cape Province, Cape Town, is less than an hour’s drive away, and offers an enormous variety of things to do and see. In fact, this remains one of the world’s top tourist destinations. Must-see attractions in Cape Town include Table Mountain, the Kirstenbosch National Botanical Gardens, Lion’s Head, Signal Hill, Clifton beaches, Robben Island, and the V & A Waterfront.
