About Vrede Wines

You will find Vrede Wine Farm located in the heart of the Stellenbosch against the eastern slopes of the Bottelary wine region beneath the magnificent Simonberg and Jonkershoek mountains.

Vrede which means 'Peace' or 'Tranquility' produces new world wines with a rich varietal character and an intense concentration of flavours due to the excellent wine growing conditions of the area.

In 1992 Cape businessman Kleintjie Bellingan transformed the land from a dairy farm into a well established wine farm. Using a team of viticulturist to match each specific cultivar or variety with the terroir best suited to it. The first 40ha contained Cabernet Sauvignon, Shiraz, Pinotage, Merlot, Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay vines, however with the farm expanding to 52ha the wine portfolio has grown to nine wines.

Vrede Wines offers wine sales, cold storage and a function venue including conference facilities. The wine tasting can be enjoyed overlooking the vineyards from the wooden deck of the new tasting facility.
