About De Vallei Boutique Winery
Nikie de Villiers adhered to the tradition of farming in the Durbanville wine route just as his family six generations back have been doing. In 2008, he came third in the annual Winemakers Classic and is landlord to a few micro-producers at the De Vallei winery. While he makes Sauvignon and Shiraz on the Morgenster Farm and enjoys surfing, his wife, Natasha, assists in tending to this young winery and is the secretary of the Durbanville Boutique Wine Association.
De Vallei has a new Boutique Pizzeria and has also hosted a season of Sauvignon on the estate in 2011. Small batches of quality grapes are chosen to create this handcrafted wine. Sample their flagship Cabernet Sauvignon and the 'Jacobus 2009', a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon (50%) and Merlot and Shiraz (each 25%).
Indulge in a different vineyard experience and join the De Vallei horse trails. Savour your surroundings on a 1 hour stroll in the vineyards or stay in the saddle for longer and add two wine tastings at local wineries to your adventure. Or end it all off with a field picnic and wine tasting at De Vallei. The quaint tasting room, friendly staff and wonderful hostess makes this wine tasting experience enjoyable and relaxing.
