About Villiera Wines

This family-owned estate was started in 1983 by cousins Simon and Jeff Grier who immediately set about replanting varietals of a classic and local variety.

Once their cellar was up and running, production of Méthode Cap Classique and wines began. Aside from Cap Classique, they are known for their Sauvignon Blanc, Chenin Blanc, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon.

Their sparkling wines range includes a non-vintage Tradition Brut and Tradition Rosé Brut, a Villiera Monro Brut and the additive free Villiera Brut Natural which all makes up 35% of wine production on the estate.

Aside from the leading white wines, they also produce a blend of Sauvignon Blanc and Semillon called Down to Earth and Rhine Riesling and Gewürztraminer. The Monro blend is one of Villiera’s finest wines in the Bordeaux blend section. Aside from Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon and Monro, there’s a Shiraz-based blend Down to Earth with Shiraz, Pinotage and Fired Earth fortified wine.

Villiera has reserved 220ha of land for a Wildlife Sanctuary boasting indigenous trees grown in plastic bottles, dams and marshlands. Enjoy a game drive and spot Springbuck, Red Hartebeest, Bontebok, Eland, Gemsbok, Bush Pig and Burchell's Zebra, Common Duiker and Grysbok. All buildings within the sanctuary use sun, gas and hydro electric power to power them.
