Located in Somerset West, this wine estate originated in 1998 and produces four wine ranges at their cellar on the slopes of the Helderberg. They focus on the regions of Helderberg, Elgin and the Perdeberg. The name of this estate pays homage to the Cape’s optimism but also the ‘can-do’ attitude within the winery. It also pays homage to the pioneering settlers who first arrive in the Cape in 1652 and began planted wine grapes.
Wine was first made in this region in 1659 and today the Winery of Good Hope Range combines various qualities of the many trials and experiments. It happens to be their entry level wine and the owners and winemakers believe that if their ‘house wines’ are anything short of great then they’re simply not succeeding. The Radford Dale Range combines a bit of tradition with modern winemaking which results in a few rare treasures. The winery team consists of a melting pot of people and cultures which all add to the uniqueness of the wine and a blending of great ideas.
