About Bloemendal Wine Estate

The Bloemendal farm is positioned amidst the coolest wine-growing region in South Africa, Durbanville. It’s been around for 300 years and first supplied fresh produce to ships belonging to the Dutch East India Company sailing around the coast to the Spice Islands. It has a micro-climate which is ideally suited to the noble cultivars which they concentrate on.

It was first registered as an estate in 1987, but had its very first cellar was made in 1920 by the owner’s grandfathers, Jackie Coetzee. He produced award-winning wines with the focus being on quality instead of quantity and Bloemendal wines became recognized as the ‘water lily label’.

This estate forms part of ‘Die Kloof’ and has a various range of vineyards each with their own slope aspects and soil. The limited range of wines are produced and bottled on the estate using atmospheric controlled barrel maturation cellars. Laze on the lawns of Bon Amis Café and Deli on the estate or dine at the harvest tables and savour home-made delicacies along with the wine of your choice. You can sample any corner of their diverse vineyards with their distinctive aromas and flavours and linger as long as you wish with friends and family.
