The Salmonsdam Nature Reserve in the Western Cape offers those who love the outdoors a number of walking and hiking trails through the reserve itself.

The Waterfall Trail is a very manageable two kilometre trail that takes only around an hour to complete. It is an out-and-return trail that takes hikers through the magnificent fynbos, endemic to South Africa, as well as Cape beech and spoonwood trees. Bird-watchers should be alert to local species soaring overhead.

The picturesque waterfall is a welcome retreat for any hikers that need to cool off in its crystal waters. Beautiful photographs and lifelong memories are guaranteed.
