About Robertson Valley Wine Tasting Tour

The picturesque town of Robertson is known the world over for the magnificent wines that it produces (along with its stunning roses), and visitors to the Western Cape Province and South Africa are invited to visit this little hub to sample some of these wonderful flavours.

Situated in the Breede River Valley, Robertson is along Route 62, which is a popular tourist hotspot that extends between the Eastern Cape and Western Cape. Robertson is less than 160 kilometres from Cape Town, and about 600 kilometres away from Port Elizabeth in Nelson Mandela Bay.

Robertson produces most of the Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon grapes for the whole of the Western Cape, and is home to more than a dozen wine farms. In addition, there are several private and collective wine collectors in the region, who always add an intriguing spin on world-class wines, whether local or international. Robertson Tours offers a four-hour package in which visitors can enjoy tastings and tours of up to four different wine estates. These are usually Van Loveren, Viljoensdrift, Springfield, and Robertson Wineries. This selection gives visitors the opportunity to taste some of the local favourites as well as some of the best quality wines in the country.

Along the way, the experienced, clued-up guides will share insights and trivia, making the experience so much richer and more rewarding. The tour includes lunch, collection and dropping off in Robertson.

Thanks to its idyllic location along the R62, there is plenty to see and do when doing a wine route with Robertson Tours. In addition to the stunning photo opportunities and scenic backdrops, there are also historical and cultural attractions to see along the way.
