Overnight? Stay at accommodation in Gansbaai, in Western Cape

Restaurant De La Mer is unique for many reasons, not least of all for the fact that it is the only restaurant in the Gansbaai Harbour, and it dates back generations. It was once the favourite drinking hole of sailors and fishermen and has, therefore, a fascinating (if somewhat ill-reputed) history.

Restaurant De La Mare has been passed through a few hands, but is now a family-owned and -run establishment that is characterised by the very personal passion that Louise, Dale and Eileen share for it. Each dish is lovingly prepared, and is best enjoyed while looking out onto the spectacular Gansbaai scenery from the deck. The sunsets on show are not to be missed.
