What was previously filled with tea is now filled with love. A 'T-Bag Team' from previously disadvantaged community under the leadership of the 'T-Lady' Jill Heyes, previously an art teacher from England who relocated to South Africa; reinvented the humble tea bag at the bottom of the cup into art, inspiration and hope. The teabag was enjoyed, emptied, ironed and individually hand decorated to become the first of its kind, recycled tea art. Tea bag treasures include exquisitely handpainted designs reflecting African Heritage.
The range includes stationery, greeting cards, costers, mats, wooden trays, decoupaged boxes, gift wrap, bags, candles, candle holders, notebooks, mirrors and other authentic South African gifts. There is a V&A Waterfront and Hout Bay gift store.
The Hout Bay gift shop doubles as a tea room where you can enjoy a hot cup and watch a DVD detailing the journey from the first cup of tea that inspired previously struggling men and women to an industry that delights, inspires and feed families. Community and environmentally friendly.
'A woman is like a tea-bag, you only know how strong she is when you put her in hot water.' Eleanor Roosevelt
