Perched up in the hills of Tygerberg, lies the Hillcrest Estate with a picturesque quarry for you and the family to fish in or picnic beside, with olives to die for and wine worth writing about.
When it comes to wine, only grapes from the farm are vinified and two ranges, the Hillcrest and flagship ranges are produced. The Hillcrest range consists of a Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Rose and lightly oaked red blend whilst the flagship range includes Quarry a Merlot and Hornfels a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Malbec and Petit Verdot which varies with each year. The estate not only produces high quality wine, but is also known for its table olives and olive oil which they first processed in 2001 and 2002 respectively.
From the olive orchards, you can enjoy a fine view of our majestic Table Mountain, Robben Island and Table Bay and you’ll find that Mission, Frantoio and Kalamata cultivars make up the majority of the olive orchards.
The restaurant offering a culmination of South African and Mediterranean cuisine caters for all functions and if your guest list is larger than 60 people, the party can overflow into the garden beneath a marquee tent.
