Walk the Newlands Forest Contour Path

The Newlands Forest Contour Path is a manageable, 8km long walk through Newlands Forest. It offers quick access to a natural environment and has wonderful views - one could almost forget one is still in the city!

The walk starts and ends at Rhodes Memorial, via Kirstenbosch, Skeleton Gorge or Nursery Ravine. Although some parts of the walk are steep and rough underfoot so care will need to be taken, a lot of the path is flat, shady and the route is along a wooden boardwalk. Please take note of the fynbos as you pass through the boundary between Groote Schuur Estate and Newland Forest.

• something warm (the weather can change quickly)
• suitable walking shoes
