About Musselling
For those of you that enjoy shell fish, musselling at Scarborough (or anywhere else for that matter) is such great fun. You will need to make sure you have the relevant Provincial license and then check the tides et voila! Away you go.
Picking mussels in the Western Cape seems to be slightly easier than picking the KwaZulu Natal counterparts - they seem to cling to the rocks with all their musselly strength!
Its worth it to take some gardening gloves (to protect your hands) and then a plastic bag or two to transport your dinner home again. There is a limit to how many mussels can be taken per day (30) so please adhere to that rule. Once home you will need to give the mussels a clean before preparing them in whichever delicious way you see fit!
