The enchanting area of McGregor has an unforgettable charm, a mysterious allure that is, quite simply, irresistible. The McGregor Winery, amidst this, oozes a similar charm and is especially noteworthy for its historical intrigue.
This winery, established in 1948, is committed to servicing a loyal base of customers, rather than entering the larger retail industry. The McGregor Wine Company comprises 35 different producers, making the offering as diverse as the preferences of wine enthusiasts.
The grapes grown at McGregor are cultivated in three river valleys, each with different profiles, producing a number of grapes varieties to suit different wines. Despite its historical setting, the latest, and most effective equipment is used to create red, white, rosé and dessert wines.
The area of McGregor is one of astounding beauty. Enjoy it by going on one of a number of hiking trails (e.g. the Boesmanskloof, Kleinberg Kingsriver Kloof, Rooikat or Heron trails), mountain biking trails or 4 x 4 trails. In addition, the Donkey Sanctuary is nearby, and is as popular amongst the adults as it is for the little ones.
