Lorraine Private Cellar dates back to 1875, a time when South Africans were distinguishing themselves as quality wine-makers with a passion for farming and agriculture, an appreciation for the art and when the horses drew carts through the vineyards collecting the fruit of the harvest.

For five illustrious generations Lorraine has produced elegant and noble wines of premium quality. It has become more than an inheritance to current owner Johan De Wet as he so gracefully words it “…Continuing this family tradition of winemaking is my life’s dedication and in making these wines I want to share my heritage, my love and my passion with you.”

Positioned on the Goudini regions, fertile, western ridge – a land known for its wealth of nutritious soil types and bio-diversity - Lorraine also enjoys the constant company of the majestic Du Toitskloof Mountains and the clear, crisp rivers of water that flow from them.

All lovingly picked at the perfect time of day the different wines included in the Lorraine selection are a Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Shiraz, Pinotage Rose and a premium blend comprised of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Pinotage. So free up some your time to stroll between the vineyards, along the banks of the rivers and maybe even steal a picnic under the trees at Lorraine one weekend.
