La Bourgogne once formed a part of the farm Bourgogne which was one of the first Hugenot farms dating back to 1694. Simon van der Stel granted the farm to Pierre de Villiers. In 1800, the Le Roux family first became involved in the managing of the farm and today Gappie Le Roux still managers the farming operations. You’ll find this working farm beneath 150 old oaks beside olive trees, plum and pear orchards and vineyards.
You’ll hear and see the stream flowing from the Franschhoek River which supplies water to the farm. When visiting, you can enjoy a tasting fest which includes five wines and three various types of olive oils with bread, table olives and preserves. Bring a picnic blanket and treats and relax on the lawns amongst the Black ducks who call the river home and the Cape Eagle soaring above. Indulge in their range which includes Progeny Semillon, Blossom White Blend, La Bourgogne Rose and Syrah.
