The Cape Winelands may have gained most of their acclaim for the world-class wines that are produced here, but there is also plenty to say for the natural splendour that characterises this part of the Western Cape and South Africa. In Worcester, one of the gorgeous little towns that is nestled away in the Karoo, Die Kokerboom Restaurant and Cocktail Bar can be found.
This inviting eatery is in the Karoo Desert National Botanical Garden, where beautiful views of the gardens are par for the course while enjoying a variety of tasty meals and snacks. The menu at Die Kokerboom includes different breakfast options, as well as firm lunch favourites like beef burgers, fish and chips, cheddamelt steaks, and a lighter chicken salad.
Although there was once an area for a deli here, the local wine enthusiasts and the thirsty travellers ensured that this was soon converted into a fully licensed bar and cocktail area. Now, there are drinks specials and fabulous cocktails to try out.
The fireplace is popular on chilly Boland winter evenings, and the outside veranda is great almost all year round. These added features make Die Kokerboom restaurant even more special, and a popular choice for events and celebrations. The warm ambience, spectacular views and comfortable setting make for a fantastic venue option for anniversaries, birthdays, corporate events and even weddings.
The bar and restaurant are open every day from 09h00. On Sundays, there is a three-course buffet lunch; a fantastic way to spend time with friends and family during your time in Worcester.
