About Kirabo Private Cellar
Located in the picturesque Breedekloof valley of Rawsonville, just an hour north of Cape Town, surrounded by magnificent mountains and in close proximity the beautiful Brandvlei Dam is the boutique red wine cellar – Kirabo. Kirabo is an African word and it translates as such “A gift from God…” Kirabo has wine in its blood as the Le Roux family have owned it for five generations, each building upon the improvements of the last with the whole family, lovingly involved in every step of the process and in harmony with community and nature.
They produce small quantities of varying cultivars, grapes all being handpicked at dawn. After which they are lovingly crafted into elegant wines and allowed to wood mature for 24 months, until perfect. Visit the estate and see how the diverse range of soil types and unique climate have impacted the estate, you can also experience a wine tasting with a difference, vineyard tours and even create your own blend and have it bottled for you.
