The Forrester family bought the Scholtzenhof farm in 1993, restored the 17th century homestead and replanted vines. A year later the Ken Forrester label produced its first wines.
The Scholtzenhof farm is one of the oldest farms in the Cape and was first granted to soldier Frederick Botha who completed his time and was banished to Mauritius with his mistress. He was the first one to plant vines on the farm.
The farm has a friendly atmosphere and everyone can visit for a tasting. They have three ranges: the Petit, Ken Forrester and Icon Range. Pair this with a Dalewood cheese platter beside the vineyards.
Take a walk around the farm and view the incredible bird life of Fish Eagles and Harrier Hawks, the stables and competition horses and the dam. Take a seat at our restaurant 96 Winery Road and be delighted with the dishes and wine served.
